On Kent Island in the Bay of Fundy, where we study a population of savannah sparrows each May - July, this stunning optical illusion rose out of the eastern sea one evening in June as a sudden storm swept through after supper. If you look closely, you can see the white nest boxes for tree swallows that were installed by recent PhD graduate Brad Woodworth.
