While the Mouse Lemur (Microcebus Murinus) is one of the smallest lemur species, it plays an important role in Madagascar’s ecosystems and is part of the island’s unique biodiversity. Our research investigated how knowledge of Mouse Lemur health and ecology can support conservation. Working alongside the nonprofit Planet Madagascar, the project aims to use this knowledge to inform sustainable forest communities, recognizing that the health of lemurs, people, and their shared environment are interconnected. By understanding the challenges facing Mouse Lemurs and their habitats, this research contributes to a One Health approach to conservation that supports both biodiversity and the communities that depend on Madagascar’s forests.
