Part of our research is identifying and tracking pathogens (bacteria, viruses, etc.) spread by insects (called vectors). In this case, we we’re looking for flying vectors that hang around white-tailed deer by setting-up traps that attract insects with light and carbon dioxide. By doing this we get an idea of what flying vectors could be in the area (that could feed on, and make the white-tailed deer sick).
