Adobe Connect Pro is a secure web conferencing tool that allows participants to connect with others anywhere in the world through the use of video and/or audio. Popular uses for Adobe Connect include web meetings, presentations, conferences, webinars, and e-learning. Adobe Connect Pro is a secure web conferencing tool that allows participants to connect with others anywhere in the world through the use of video and/or audio. Popular uses for Adobe Connect include web meetings, presentations, conferences, webinars, and e-learning. CCS offers a limited number of Adobe Connect host licenses to departments on campus for the purpose of hosting online meeting and webinars.  Adobe Connect Pro has been deemed non-directional for the University and will be discontinued as a service offering on August 26, 2019.  After that date CCS clients will no longer have access to Adobe Connect Pro and any recordings of meetings they have made in Adobe Connect Pro.  CCS has two new offerings that will replace the Adobe Connect Pro service, Microsoft Skype for Business, and Cisco WebEx. The University pays a licensing fee for the Adobe Connect Pro product. Each Department is provided one license at no charge; additional licenses cost $135 per year.

A delegate within the department is required to oversee the license within their area in order to:

  • take ownership of the license
  • monitor all email communications from CCS and/or Adobe Connect and notify department users of relevant information
  • find and/or provide local support for web conferencing as needed
  • coordinate usage and ensure that meetings associated with their account do not conflict
  • undertake responsibility for setting up all meetings OR simply manage access and distribute credentials to individual

CCS only provides licensing support for Adobe Connect Pro. All other questions (e.g. technical or usage) need to be directed to your local IT Admin support. If you would like to use Adobe Connect please check with your department as most departments on campus already have a license. If your department does not, please have the person who would oversee this account for the department put in a request through the CCS Help Centre at Ext. 58888 or IThelp@uoguelph.ca.

They can either:

  1. Submit a ticket with the CCS Help Centre (email: IThelp@uoguelph.ca) at least two business days prior to the meeting date with the date and time of the meeting; or
  2. Fill out the Adobe Connect webform.
