The University of Guelph is excited to announce the opening of our Digital Accessibility Resource Centre (DARC), made up of accessibility experts who provide campus support for digital content creation. Ensuring digital content is accessible for everyone is another way U of G aims to Improve Life on campus.

Why DARC?

The DARC will provide U of G digital content creators with the education, tools, training, and support required to ensure their content is accessible for all. U of G must comply with rigorous Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) guidelines by 2021, and the hope is that providing this support service will help us accomplish this important task and meet the needs of our entire campus community.

How Can I Use DARC?

The DARC will assist the U of G community in creating accessible web content, PDFs, Word documents, presentation slides, videos, audio, and other multimedia. Services provided by the DARC include:

  • Weekly office hours
  • Email and in-person consultations
  • Training sessions
