Why do I need a Student ID Card?

Your Student ID Card is the most important piece of identification you will have while at the University of Guelph and the University of Guelph-Humber. The ID Card confirms your affiliation with the University and can provide you with access to a wide variety of academic and wellness services. It's also used for meal plans (including at these off-campus partners) and access to on-campus residence. You will retain this ID Card for the duration of your studies at the University of Guelph.

How do I obtain a University of Guelph Student ID Card?

If you are new to the University of Guelph and need to obtain a Student ID Card, you can submit your digital photo online by following the Instructions for the Submission of a Digital Photo. After submitting your photo, read more about how to obtain your ID Card.

Please note that our office is currently closed due to the pandemic, so we are unable to take your photo at our office.

How do I obtain a University of Guelph-Humber Student ID Card?

If you are new to the University of Guelph-Humber and need to obtain a Student ID Card, you can submit your digital photo online by following the Instructions for Guelph-Humber Submission of a Digital Photo.

For more information on the University of Guelph-Humber Student ID Card and related policies, please refer to the Guelph-Humber Photo ID site.

Is there a charge for the Card?

The cost of your first Guelph Student ID Card is included in your registration fee. Lost, stolen or broken cards are subject to a Student ID Card replacement fee. The Student ID Card replacement fee is payable by debit to Enrolment Services.

What if I lose my Card?

First:
Deactivate your card immediately from any computer with internet access at Online Services. If you have a Meal Plan attached to your card, you can also invalidate your card at any cashier at any of the staffed Hospitality Services locations to prevent others from using your funds.
Next:
Contact Enrolment Services at es@uoguelph.ca as soon as possible. Reactivation of a previously lost card cannot, under any circumstances, be done if a new card has already been issued. The replacement card will be subject to a Student ID Card replacement fee.

What do I do if my Card doesn't work?

If an ID Card is broken or not functioning, the ID Card will be reprinted at no charge as long as all the pieces of the card are submitted at the time of replacement.
