Comparing the new email design to how our Colleague emails used to look

Through the collaboration of multiple departments and campuses, the Colleague Outbound Communications Project is now complete!

What is a Colleague outbound communication?

Colleague can be used to generate and send mass emails to applicants and students. Over 600 emails are currently sent through Colleague’s Communication Management System, and cover a range of areas, including application acknowledgements, admission offers, award information, course enrolment details and payment reminders.

How were Colleague emails improved?

Colleague emails were previously sent in plain text and were often mistaken for spam! There were also limitations related to formatting and accessibility. As part of this project, the 600+ emails were converted to HTML. The new HTML design is mobile friendly and accessible, and it allows for the addition of U of G branding.

The project team greatly appreciates the time and efforts of the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, Admission Services, Enrolment Services, Student Financial Services, Computing and Communications Services, and the Ridgetown and Guelph-Humber campuses.
