Alan H. Meek Family Prize for Leadership & Citizenship [C2165]

Established by Dr. Alan H. Meek, former Dean of the Ontario Veterinary College, to recognize outstanding leadership and citizenship qualities in a graduating DVM student veterinarian who is expected to be a leader throughout their professional career. The scholarship also honours Dr. Meek's family, who have been instrumental in supporting his lifelong dedication to veterinary medicine. Nominations will be solicited from all OVC faculty and the three students gaining the most nominations will be voted on by all faculty members. Curriculum vitae will be made available upon request to faculty prior to voting. Selection will be based on the graduating student having best demonstrated the qualities of leadership and good citizenship during the four years of the DVM program and, that is expected to be a leader throughout his or her professional career. In the event of a tie vote, selection will be based on the highest program average.

Students who have completed Phase 4 of the DVM program with a minimum 80% program average.
