Larry (OAC ‘68) and Margaret (MAC ’68, Alumna of Honour 2011) Dickenson met and fell in love at the University of Guelph. Larry received his degree in Agricultural Economics and Margaret majored in Food and Nutrition. Their shared passions took them around the world to 8 different posts as members of Canada's Diplomatic Service. This award was created to support students who share Larry and Margaret’s passion of service, international development, and positive, inclusive change in the world. Apply by May 15th to the Guelph Institute of Development Studies (GIDS) (ids@uoguelph.ca) awards committee with a one-page letter outlining your volunteer work and commitment to service. Selection will be based on exemplary service, volunteer or employment.

Students registered in the Bachelor of Arts program majoring in International Development Studies whose volunteer work is related to international relations and career aspirations focus on international relations, international political economy, foreign aid, foreign affairs social service or political science.
