The Ontario Professional Engineers Foundation for Education created these awards to acknowledge the hard work of engineering students and promote the relevancy of becoming a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.). Apply by September 30 to the School of Engineering Awards Committee (soe.undergradawards@uoguelph.ca) with a one-page statement outlining professional development and extracurricular activities including involvement on campus, in the School of Engineering, or in the community. Include a statement self-identifying as a Black, Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit and Métis) or racialized student. Selection will be based on greatest leadership impact as demonstrated through involvement in professional development and extracurricular activities in the field of engineering. In the event of a tie the student with the highest cumulative average will be selected.
Black, Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit and Métis), or racialized students registered in an accredited engineering program within the School of Engineering who have completed a minimum of 5.25 and a maximum of 18.0 credits and who have demonstrated leadership through professional development and extra-curricular activities in the field of engineering. Preference for one scholarship to be awarded to a female student and one scholarship to be awarded to a male student.
