To recognize the positive contributions of students who presently lead the University of Guelph community, and to thank the faculty, staff and alumni who mentored and encouraged him, this award was established by Rich Appiah, BAH (’02), LL.B., who attended U of G as a President’s Scholar; served in dozens of leadership roles as a student; and now practices law in Toronto. Apply by May 15 to the CSAHS Awards Committee at csahs.awards@uoguelph.ca with a 1-page letter outlining contributions, leadership, and positive impact to the University of Guelph or greater community through volunteer, elected, or paid positions. Selection will be based on the most significant demonstrated leadership and positive impact on the University of Guelph or greater community.

Students registered in any program offered by the College of Social and Applied Human Sciences who have completed a minimum of 10 credits, with a minimum 80% cumulative average, and who have demonstrated leadership in the University of Guelph or greater community through volunteer, elected, or paid positions. Preference will be given to students registered in the Political Science or Criminal Justice and Public Policy majors of the BA program.
