The OVC Class of 1983 created this DVM Phase 2 scholarship in memory of their classmate Dr. Mark Lawrence. A gifted rugby player and charismatic centre of any social activity, Mark lived life to the fullest until his tragic death in a skiing accident on February 23, 2001. Faculty advisors for the OVC Challenge Cup hockey tournament will nominate the top three Phase 1 students who showed the most enthusiasm and engagement in the tournament to the OVC Awards Committee each fall. Advisors will be asked to provide specific examples of this behavior demonstrated by the nominees and selection will be based on the highest cumulative average in Phase 1.
Students registered in Phase 2 of the DVM program who participated in the OVC Challenge Cup hockey tournament while in Phase 1 and listed equine practice or mixed animal practice as their Veterinary Clinical Practice career objective in the entrance survey.
