Field courses offer unique opportunities to bring learning alive and experience biology first-hand. Recognizing how transformative field courses can be when thinking about the student experience and beyond, this travel grant was established to allow students to pursue this unique opportunity by helping offset some of the associated costs. The field course application will be used for selection. Selection will be based on the anticipated benefits of participation in the field course and the relevance of the course to the student’s program of study.

Students registered in any major offered by the Department of Integrative Biology who are registered in BIOL*4610 Arctic Ecology field course (offered in even numbered years). When BIOL*4610 is not offered the travel grant will be awarded to a student registered in BIOL*4410 Field Ecology (Algonquin Park).
