Ed Ireland Women’s Legacy Relay Scholarship [E-I1499]

This scholarship was motivated by the outstanding achievements of the University of Guelph Gryphon women’s relay teams. It celebrates and awards women track athletes whose strong work ethic contributes to the legacy of excellence of the program. The scholarship celebrates the program’s success in producing numerous Olympians and national team athletes, and numerous Canadian and collegiate records, guided by the leadership of Coach Jason Kerr. The scholarship awards athletes who demonstrate The Gryphon Way qualities of being determined, caring, authentic, respectful, and engaged—on the track, in the classroom and in the community. Coaches will nominate students to the Athletic Awards Committee. Selection will be based on extraordinary athletic and leadership qualities.

Entering student-athletes who are members of the Gryphon Women’s Track and Field team or current members of the Gryphon Women’s Track and Field team who have achieved a minimum 70% average or equivalent during the previous academic year as a student-athlete. Preference will be given to student-athletes competing in the 4 x 100m or 4 x 200m or 4 x 400m or 4 x 800m relay.
