This scholarship was established to encourage the study of subject matter relating to the history, contributions, and issues faced by or about 2SLGBTQIA+ peoples. Apply by January 15 to the College of Arts awards committee at coaawards@uoguelph.ca including a copy of coursework with 2SLGBTQIA+ subject matter, 1-page application letter (maximum 450 words), curriculum vitae, and any supporting letters (2 maximum) from a faculty and/or community member referencing involvement in the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Coursework submitted with the application must have been completed within the past calendar year and should not exceed 10-12 pages. Selection will be based on the application that demonstrates the most significant contribution to 2SLGBTQIA+ studies. Students may only hold this scholarship once.

Students registered full-time in any program with an essay, assignment, or other coursework pertaining to Two-Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, (2SLGBTQIA+) and additional people who identify as part of sexual and gender diverse communities. Preference will be given to an applicant who is involved in the 2SLGBTQIA+ community as demonstrated by a record of volunteer activities, active civil society memberships, or as attested by a letter of recommendation from a community group, or as evidenced by related academic pursuits. Preference will also be given to students registered in the Sexualities, Genders and Social Change program.
