Established by the Tersigni family to reflect their commitment to ongoing social change and rooted in the SXGN program’s focus on advocacy, equity, and transformative change, this in-course award celebrates students whose scholarship and activism reflect values of inclusivity and public engagement. Apply by May 15 to coaawards@uoguelph.ca with a brief statement (up to 250 words) describing their community engagement, involvement, leadership, and/or social justice work, on or off campus, over the past 3-5 years. Selection will be based on the most significant and meaningful commitment to social justice and engagement with community partnerships that reflect values of inclusivity and public engagement through community involvement, leadership roles held, and/or social justice work on or off campus over the past 3-5 years. In the event there are no eligible applicants, selection will be based on the highest cumulative average of students registered in the SXGN major who have completed a minimum of 4.0 credits.

Students registered in the Sexualities, Genders and Social Change (SXGN) major or minor, who have completed a minimum of 4.0 credits, and who have demonstrated a commitment to social justice and engagement with community partnerships through community involvement, leadership roles and/or social justice work on or off campus in the last 3-5 years. Preference will be given to students registered in the SXGN major. This scholarship can only be held once.
