Dr. Martha Billes, O.C. is the University’s ninth Chancellor and the first alumna to serve in this role. She has been a strong supporter of the MCL since its inception and has established several awards to support students in the program to empower future conservation leaders who will make a meaningful impact in the field. Apply by February 1 to the Masters of Conservation Leadership Advisory Committee at mconslead@uoguelph.ca with 1) a maximum 1-page letter outlining the focus of your research, and indicating which PhD program you are enrolled in or applying to at the University of Guelph; 2) an unofficial copy of your current or most recent transcript; and 3) a copy of your resume/CV. Selection will be based on academic excellence and the relevance of the student’s research to biodiversity or environmental conservation. Students are eligible to receive the scholarship a maximum of twice during their program.
Students entering or registered in any full-time PhD program whose research focus is on biodiversity or environmental conservation. Preference will be given in the following order: 1) entering students and those in the first 3 years of their program, 2) students whose research is relevant to social, cultural, and political dimensions of conservation, 3) students entering or registered in any program offered by the College of Social and Applied Human Sciences.
