Established by the McCall MacBain Foundation - this graduate scholarship will attract students to rural development research - supporting rural communities through the collection and analysis of critical health data to support Canadian rural communities to be fairer, healthier, and more prosperous for all. Faculty member to provide nomination to OAC Award Office in the Fall. Selection will be based on academic excellence, relevant experience, and research potential outlined in the application for admission. Scholarships will be renewed dependent on continuation in either the MSc in Rural Planning & Development program (thesis-based), or the PhD in Rural Studies program, and continued research in a relevant rurally focused project that aligns with the vision of the McCall MacBain Foundation Chair in Resilient Rural Communities. OAC Awards will contact the nominating faculty member in the Fall to confirm students meet eligibility requirements for a renewal. This scholarship is not tenable with Ontario Graduate Scholarships, Brock Doctoral Scholarship, Arrell Scholarships, Trudeau Doctoral Scholarships, Graduate Tuition Scholarships, or Tri-Agency Scholarships, including the Vanier.

Students entering full-time into the MSc in Rural Planning & Development program (thesis-based), or the PhD in Rural Studies program, who propose to undertake research in a rurally focused project that aligns with the McCall MacBain Foundation Chair in Resilient Rural Communities.
