The Wei Zhang Mentorship & Community Engagement Scholarship honours the legacy of Prof. Wei Zhang (1982-2024), a remarkable scientist and dedicated mentor in the Department of Molecular & Cellular Biology, at the University of Guelph. This award recognizes a graduate student who exemplifies excellence in mentorship and community engagement, reflecting the values and spirit that Prof. Zhang embodied. Apply by April 1 to the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology by submitting the Wei Zhang Mentorship & Community Engagement Scholarship application form. Selection will be based on excellence in mentorship and community engagement. 1. Mentorship: Exceptional dedication to mentoring fellow students, supported by testimonials from mentees and peers. 2. Community Engagement: Active participation and leadership in community service projects and initiatives that foster a sense of community and inclusivity. Activities performed as a Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) are not eligible for consideration. Students may only receive this award once.
Students registered full-time in a thesis-based graduate program offered by the department of Molecular and Cellular Biology, who have completed a minimum of four semesters and who have participated in mentorship and community engagement activities as part of their current graduate research.
