Nanoparticle Research in Bloom

Nanoparticles once restricted to science fiction are a growing interest for research, transforming numerous industries including agriculture. Demonstrated in the image is the manipulation of Iron Oxide Nanoparticles through exposure to a magnetic field resulting in a delicate flower-like structure. This serves as a fitting depiction of the blossoming potential nanotechnology holds for soil health. The Agri-Food Engineering Research Lab with industry partner collaboration aims to develop eco-friendly sustainable nanotechnologies aimed at expanding product offerings.
