September Stargazing with the Physics & Astronomy Club

Date and Time

Location

Johnston Green (Centre)

Details

Students will have the opportunity to meet others who share their interests or simply their curiosity. The informal environment allows for organic relationship-building, whether students are discussing their favourite celestial objects, their academic interests, or simply their experiences so far at university. Upper-year members of the Astronomy Club will also play a mentorship role during the event. As they guide participants through using the telescopes and interpreting what they see, they will create moments to share their own experiences as students, talk about how they got involved in campus life, and answer questions from first-years about clubs, classes, or university life more broadly.

Information about the Astronomy Club’s future events, workshops, and ways to stay involved will be shared, helping students find a continuing sense of belonging beyond Orientation Week. The event is open to all students regardless of academic background.
