CCMPS Launch with Student Excellence and Research Showcase

Join us in celebrating a momentous occasion at the University of Guelph, the official launch of the College of Computational, Mathematical, and Physical Sciences (CCMPS).
This special event will bring our community together to mark the opening of the new college. Highlights include:
- 1:00–2:00 p.m. — Formal remarks to officially open CCMPS with light refreshments provided.
- 2:00–4:00 p.m. — Research Showcase will highlight undergraduate and graduate student research within CCMPS. Awards will be given to the top three presenters.
- 2:00–4:00 p.m. — Grad Preview for those interested in pursuing advanced studies in the computational, mathematical, and physical sciences.
- 2:00–4:00 p.m. — Student Club Showcase will highlight the various undergraduate and graduate student clubs in CCMPS.
We could not have achieved this milestone without the support of our community, and we look forward to celebrating with you!
Research Showcase
If you would like to register as a presenter for the Research Showcase, please fill out the CCMPS Research Day Registration Form by October 10th, 2025.
Graduate students who are registered in a CCMPS research-based Master’s or PhD program or who have completed a research project and undergraduate students who are in or have been in a USRA or URA position in the past 12 months are eligible to participate.
The maximum poster size allowed is 58 inches by 47 inches, recommended orientation is landscape. Each poster presenter is required to defend his/her poster to be eligible for awards.
Grad Preview
Are you interested in learning more about the various course-based and research-based master's and doctoral programs in CCMPS? Come visit with faculty and staff from Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics & Statistics and Physics to learn more about their programs,specializations, requirements and career prospects. If you would like to learn more about the graduate programs in CCMPS, please fill out the CCMPS Grad Preview Information Form and someone will follow up with you.
This CCMPS Launch event is open to all U of G faculty, staff and students. To help us plan catering and reduce waste, please register if you plan to attend.
