Ontario/Baden-Wurttemberg (OBW) Exchange Program

The Ontario/Baden-Wurttemberg (OBW) Student Exchange Program organizes exchanges between 12 Ontario universities, including the University of Guelph, and 9 universities in the Baden-Wurttemberg region in Germany.  Through the OBW exchange program, University of Guelph students can go on exchange for one or two semesters to one of the participating universities in Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany.  Students from most fields of study can apply.  Students are encouraged to have taken at least a first-year level German course before participating in the OBW exchange, but students without any German will also be considered.

Information on the program and the partner German universities can be found on the OBW website.  Please note that besides the exchange program, the OBW also offers a Summer Language Program (any level) and a Summer Research Program.

OBW Scholarships

Selected participants who are Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents will receive a scholarship from the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities of $2500 for one semester of study or $3500 for two semesters of study.  (International students can participate in the OBW exchange but are not eligible for the OBW scholarship).
