The best part about Guelph…

To put it simply, the people and the community.

PhD. Political Science
2017 MA. Criminology & Criminal Justice Policy

Why I Chose Guelph…

The Criminology and Criminal Justice policy is one of the best in Canada and during my application process, as well as throughout my degree, Guelph has provided a warm and fostering atmosphere to my research.

About My Advisor…

Guelph is full of interesting, intelligent and kind academics, and my advisor is no exception. Her suggestions and guidance have both challenged and encouraged me, resulting in a deeper understanding of my research as well as others.

About the City of Guelph…

Guelph is, quite literally, my favourite place on earth. It is a vibrant community, full of innovative, kind, and amazing people. There is a place for everyone and everyone is welcome. There are so many things to do and get involved in, and the city's natural beauty is unparalleled.

Being a Graduate Student at Guelph…

Being a graduate student at Guelph is amazing. You are surrounded by such fiercely intelligent people and you are constantly learning and having your views challenged and changed in the best of ways. It is not for the faint of heart, but if you stick to it, it is an experience that will help you grow in the best of ways.

My Future Plans…

I have now been offered a PhD position in Political Science at York University. Without the help of my peers and professors at the University of Guelph, I would have never even considered my PhD as a goal, let alone achieve it. For that, I owe thanks to the faculty and peers at the University of Guelph.

About Campus…

The thing I like best about Guelph campus is the kindness and openness of the students who attend. I look forward to coming to campus and, as I woman, I feel safe on campus at all times, which is so key to the success of both students and an institution - which is something many University and College campuses have a problem with.

About Financial Support…

I received scholarships on a semi-regular basis, which helps cover tuition and living costs
