Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC)

NSERC promotes discovery by funding more than 11,000 researchers every year.

Minimum Processing Times

In general, Office of Research minimum processing time for NSERC grant competitions is one (1) week for Discovery and Research Tools & Instruments, and two (2) weeks for Alliance, prior to the external deadlines posted by NSERC.

Application Instructions

For non-electronic submissions, please send a complete, signed copy of your full application including an OR-5 form to the Office of Research Services for signatures by the internal deadline.

For electronic submissions, please perform the electronic submission and then submit a complete, signed OR-5 form to the Office of Research Services by the internal deadline.

Researchers must provide a signed OR-5 form and upload the final version of their application via the NSERC Research Portal for review/submission by Research Support Services by the internal deadlines.
