In 2019, the University of Guelph pledged its support for the Dimensions Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Charter.
In 2025, the University of Guelph applied and was selected as one of 18 post-secondary institutions across Canada to join the new cohort of Dimensions Canada.
Dimensions Canada invites post-secondary institutions to take part in a transformative, evidence-based and co-creative process to further embed the principles of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion within their research ecosystems. Our participation in Dimensions will help us advance toward the commitment in Our Time: University of Guelph Strategic Plan 2022-2027 to “transform our University through Indigenization and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.”
Through outreach and collaboration among members of our research community, including members of equity-deserving groups, the objectives of our participation in Dimensions Canada are to:
- Identify the successes and best practices already achieved at the University of Guelph so that they can be celebrated and knowledge of them shared across the research community.
- Identify persistent obstacles and inequities that continue to prevent equitable participation and representation in research, and work to co-create solutions.
-
Strengthen consideration of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Indigenization in research design and practice.
