Bridging the Gap

Building Bridges Across Difference

More than ever our world, our communities and our campus need people who are committed to and skilled in building bridges across difference. Bridging the Gap is a 6-week bridgebuilding workshop series that will bring together a group of students to learn and practice skills in bridgebuilding.

Students will learn together to:

  1. Understand what bridgebuilding is and create their own ethic of bridgebuilding
  2. Practice and strengthen skills in deep listening
  3. Practice the power of storytelling to create understanding
  4. Explore how to navigate moments of tension constructively during bridgebuilding

Hosted by the Multi-Faith Centre and run by Sonya Wu-Winter, Coordinator of Multi-Faith Programs, this workshop series will include, but not be limited to, bridge-building across religious, spiritual and worldview differences.  Drawn from Interfaith America's Bridging the Gap curriculum, weekly sessions will run in the winter 2026 semester.

Professional & Career Development Record Badge.

Your perks will include:

  • A meaningful experience of building understanding and bridgebuilding skills with your fellow students
  • Weekly sessions that include a meal
  • A Certificate in Bridgebuilding given by Multi-Faith Programs

"I treasure the lessons, community and introspection these weeks have privileged me to. These were evenings I’d look forward to for the warm, authentic environment, and look back on for the strategies on better listening, storytelling and maintaining respect across differing perspectives. Grateful!"

"This program played a crucial role in my post-secondary journey. As an international student, it helped me see how much power we hold when we make space for each other’s stories. If you’re looking for a place to grow, be challenged, find community, and build bridges, this is where you start."
