Wiisookodaadiwag Peer Mentorship Program

The Wiisookodaadiwag (“to be partnered with”) Peer Mentorship program connects upper year Indigenous undergraduate student Mentors with first and second-year Indigenous undergraduate students to provide guidance and support to through regular meetings and activities. 

What to expect from the program

  • Regular meetings between Mentor and Mentee

  • Social and community building events  

  • Check-ins with Wiisookodaadiwag Peer Mentorship Program staff  

  • Opportunities for reflection and feedback

Are you a first or second-year self-identified First Nations, Inuit, or Métis undergraduate student looking to build connections and receive peer support as you transition to life at U of G? 

Apply to be a Mentor

If you are a current First Nations, Inuit, and Métis undergraduate upper year (third year or higher) student who is interested in providing guidance and support to newer Indigenous students while also strengthening skills in communication, active listening, and leadership, then this program is for you!  

The Wiisookodaadiwag Peer Mentor position is a volunteer position that is formally recognized by the Professional and Career Development Record. To be a Peer Mentor, you must be available for weekly meetings, complete various training and reflection activities, and attend program events in the Fall and Winter semesters.  

Applications for 2025-2026 are now closed; Applications for 2026-2027 will open in Winter 2026
