Approved ARTS or SOCIAL SCIENCE (Liberal Education) Electives For B.Sc. Students

Update: October 31, 2018! Approval has recently been granted to expand the list of acceptable Arts/Social Science courses. Going forward, this will be referred to as the 'Liberal Education' requirement, but in the meantime all of the courses listed below will be acceptable to meet the Arts or Social Science requirement for B.Sc. students, regardless of the Undergraduate Calendar year that is being followed. The Program Evaluation system in WebAdvisor is being updated, but it may take some time before that process is complete.

Please note: This list may contain courses that have Priority Access or restrictions in place. Inclusion on this list does not guarantee enrolment.

Special Information is available for New Students regarding Arts/Social Science electives.

Science students who wish/need to take English courses please note that the most popular choices are ENGL 1030, ENGL 1200, and ENGL 1410. These courses may be in very high demand, and not offered in every semester. Please register early.

Science students who wish/need to take Studio Art courses please note that the most popular choices are SART 1050 and SART 1060. These courses  may be in very high demand, and give Priority Access to Studio Art Majors and Minors.
