Student Accessibility Services

Student Accessibility Services (formerly the Centre for Students with Disabilities) is located in the J.T. Powell Building. They provide a wide variety of services for students to assist them in their educational endeavours. The Library Accessibility Services provides additional support, software and technology to read, write and research more effectively.

Co-op and Career Services

Due to COVID-19, Career Advising is now available remotely until the University returns to normal operations.

Steps for booking a Career Advising appointment

Login to Experience Guelph using your central ID and password.
Click on ‘Career’ on the left hand side, then ‘Appointments’, then ‘Book By Provider’.
Scroll down until you see Julia Leary with a yellow Book button underneath.
You can then indicate the type of appointment you would like to book and select a date/time that works for you.

Counselling Services

Counselling Services can help you with a variety of different issues affecting your life (personal counselling). They offer group and individual counselling in a variety of areas including:

  • bereavement
  • eating disorders
  • stress management
  • academic support
  • women's and men's issues
  • coming out

All information shared with Counselling Services is confidential and will not be shared with any member within or outside of the university community without written consent from you.

There is no fee associated with their services, except for missed appointments. See their website for details on how to get in touch with a counsellor.

Please also see your Program Counsellor if any circumstances arise that affect your academic performance. Your Program Counsellor can provide help with academic issues and can provide advice on an appropriate courses of action.

Indigenous Student Centre

The Indigenous Student Centre engages a community of people from a variety of First Nations, Métis and Inuit cultures, backgrounds and world views.

Learning Commons

The Learning Commons provides countless services to help you improve your performance here at the University of Guelph.

The Learning Commons is located on the 1st Floor of the McLaughlin Library.

Students seeking assistance with Chemistry, Mathematics and Statistics, or Physics should visit the Science Commons on the 3rd Floor of the McLaughlin Library.

MBA:

In order to be admitted to an MBA program, students must complete the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT). Check out the link for times and availability for writing the GMAT in Canada. There are several locations in Toronto, London and one over in Cambridge.

McMaster University is one of the only Canadian schools that offers an MBA in Healthcare management.
