CCMPS Recognizes Outstanding Graduates at 2026 Convocation

The College of Computational, Mathematical, and Physical Sciences (CCMPS) at the University of Guelph proudly celebrates the Class of 2026. We recognize the achievements and ambition of all our graduates while also highlighting a select group whose accomplishments stand out for their academic excellence, community engagement and leadership.  

The 13 students receiving CCMPS convocation awards and honours exemplify the interdisciplinary strength of CCMPS and its commitment to developing impactful, strong graduates. 

Top Academic Honour 

The College of Computational, Mathematical, and Physical Sciences Graduation Prize recognizes the graduating student with the highest cumulative average in the College.

Leadership and Impact 

The E.B. MacNaughton Convocation Prize is presented to the CCMPS nominee for the W.C. Winegard Medal. It recognizes exceptional academic achievement along with meaningful contributions to the campus and wider community.

The Society of Excellence 

The CCMPS Society of Excellence recognizes graduating undergraduate students who combine academic achievement with contributions to the University of Guelph community and beyond. The 2026 Society of Excellence inductees are:

Additionally, two students from the CCMPS community have been recognized with University convocation awards. Marcus Aldred-Ganhao, 2025-26 CEPS Student Council President, and Megan Black, PhD Chemistry student, both received the Walter Vaughan Medal. This honour recognizes students who have achieved high academic standing and have made a substantial contribution to student life through involvement in Senate. 

Together, these graduates highlight the breadth of talent across the College of Computational, Mathematical, and Physical Sciences. Whether through research, leadership, or community engagement, these students are leaving a lasting mark at the University of Guelph.
