Professor Ingo Krossing from Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg (Germany) is visiting us on Thursday, September 24, 2026. He will give a seminar entitled “Fluorinated Anions for Electrolytes and Interphases – A thrive through the Li and Post-Li Battery World” at 1:30 PM in MACN 101 (The Link Room).
Prof. Krossing’s visit is part of a multi-institutional speaking series across Ontario. Just this year he won the Marianne-Baudler-Award of the GDCh (highest prize in Inorganic Chemistry in Germany) and became a member of the European Academy of Sciences. With the support of Merck, he established the Battery Materials Laboratory at the Freiburg Materials Research Center in 2010 with research including electrolytes / electrolyte salts / additives, (coating / doping of) cathode active materials CAMs, anode-protection, Li-Ion-, Li-Sulfur- and Li-Metal-Batteries as well as Next Generation Al- / Mg-Batteries and innovative Maganese-based Redox Flow Battery Systems.
