Chemistry Student Wins Top Prize at the 2026 CCMPS Undergraduate Research Poster Competition

The Department of Chemistry is proud to congratulate Hussain Jafri, a member of Prof. Aicheng Chen's research group, on earning First Place at the 2026 CCMPS Undergraduate Summer Research Poster Competition. Jafri was recognized for his poster, Three-dimensional structural effects of titanium-based electrodes on hydrogen evolution, which was selected as the top presentation among a highly competitive field of undergraduate researchers from across CCMPS.

Held on August 12 in Peter Clark Hall, the annual poster session brought together more than 40 undergraduate researchers who showcased the results of their summer projects and shared their work with faculty, peers, and graduate student judges. Jafri's first-place finish highlights both the quality of his research and the strength of undergraduate research opportunities within the Department of Chemistry.

Congratulations to Hussain on this outstanding achievement and on representing the Department of Chemistry so well. We also extend our congratulations to all Chemistry students who participated in this year's competition.
