Fire Drills Starting this week

Posted on Monday, September 16th, 2013

Our annual fire drills will be starting this week, and we ask that when the fire alarm goes off that you evacuate as quickly and safely as possible.  The quicker everyone evacuates the quicker we can let everyone back into the building.

You should know at least 2 ways out of your area and it is important for students to remember that during a fire alarm you are allowed to evacuate through the closest exit you do not have to exit out the main doors. Last year we ran into some exiting issues because students were unaware of where their closest exit was due to only being allowed to enter and exit through one main door. Please have a look around your area and get to know where the closest exit is, you will know it is a fire exit because of the exit sign above the door.

We thank you for your patience during these drills and if you have any questions or concerns please let Scott or I know after the drill or you can email us anytime at request@fire.uoguelph.ca
