Economics professor Ross McKitrick is making great music for a great cause, as a musician and member of the Guelph-based Celtic band The WIld Oats.  The band's latest album, The Dog-Eared Hymnal, Vol. 1, was released last month, with proceeds to go towards funding clinical medical supplies in Tanzania through World Vision Canada.  The Wild Oats, and their new album were recently featured in this article from at Guelph.

The Wild Oats will be performing live at their CD release concert on Saturday, December 7th at 7:30 p.m. at St. David & St. Patrick Church (520 Speedvale Ave East, one block ease of Victoria) in Guelph.  Doors will open at 7:15 p.m.  Ticket sales from the concert will support the Brant Avenue "Running and Reading" the nation-wide literacy intervention program.  The Running and Reading program combines athletic training with one-on-one reading instruction for children in economically-challenged neighbourhoods.  Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door.
