The Department of Economics aims to be one of the best in Canada and to be recognized internationally for its research and graduate programs. In research, there is a commitment to the highest standards of scholarship with a high value placed on refereed publications in leading journals. Particular value is placed on the quality rather than the quantity of research output, where quality is measured by the significance of the contribution and the standing of the journal or reputation of the press.
