The University of Guelph celebrated the opening of the new $20-million Ontario Swine Research Centre last week. The state-of-the-art facility will boost the province's ability to conduct research, create innovative solutions and develop new technologies that will be beneficial for both Ontario pork producers and consumers.

The new centre is the result of a joint investment from the Government of Ontario, the Agricultural Research Institute of Ontario (ARIO), and Ontario's pork industry. It's the latest addition to the network of research centers across the province that are owned by ARIO and managed by the University of Guelph through the Ontario Agri-Food Innovation Alliance.
