Dr. Mazyar Fallah
Dr. Mazyar Fallah was appointed as the University of Guelph’s vice-president, research and innovation (VPRI), in May 2026.
Fallah joined the University as the dean of the College of Biological Science (CBS) in 2021 and began his second five-year term as dean on January 1, 2026, where he strengthened the college’s impact and global standing in life sciences.
As dean of CBS, Fallah positioned the college as a leader in biological science education and research, supporting faculty and staff in securing external funding and advancing the college’s success in national and international research environments.
Fallah brings extensive experience in strategic research planning and institutional leadership, with a focus on advancing research excellence, interdisciplinary collaboration and research impact across the University. His work has supported major funding initiatives and strengthened partnerships with industry, government and community organizations.
A neuroscientist, Fallah’s research focuses on cognitive and executive function. Throughout his career, he has secured competitive neuroscience funding and contributed to advancing the understanding of brain function and behaviour.
