Guelph Climate Cafe

Climate cafes are meeting spaces, often held virtually, that allow community members to come together to chat about their emotions and what the climate crisis means to them, their families, their work, and the world. Climate cafes allow people to openly discuss their fears and frustrations in a safe and supportive space.  Guelph Climate Cafes would be monthly meeting spaces allowing UofG community members to come together to talk - no presentations, guest speakers, or advice given. It is a space to focus on how you're feeling, not what you're doing.

Examples of Climate Cafes

Our Climate Café is a safe and supportive space for communities to congregate and chat about climate change and its connection to the human experience. At Our Climate Café, attendees can anticipate a 90-minute conversation on the adverse effects of the climate crisis on one's psyche, as well as hope and how to live well while navigating the current climate crisis. Attendees are pleased to find other attendees tell a tale or two, profess postulations, communicate concerns, crack jokes, and advise one another—similar to a circle of friends at a café or coffee shop. The cyberspace also includes conversations with counsellors and activities with wellness practitioners for attendees.
