Summary:

Sarah Kurtz is our Project Lead. Sarah is responsible for the daily operations of the campus composting program, where her favourite part is being able to work alongside other students who are passionate about food waste diversion.

Sarah is a recent graduate from Criminal justice and Public Policy and will be starting her MSc in Rural Planning and Development in September here at Guelph.

Apart from the compost program, Sarah plans logistics for a zero-waste campus, and facilitates and joins waste audits for the Sustainability Office. With a small but mighty team, Sarah assists with a multitude of other projects that arise, such as outreach events, content writing, and e-waste implementation.

Outside the office, Sarah volunteers on the Natural Heritage Advisory Committee for the City of Guelph and spends her time going for nature walks and being with friends.

For any questions related to campus composting, please email Sarah at kurtz@uoguelph.ca.
