The Office of Teaching and Learning is hosting U of G’s first Teaching with Artificial Intelligence Series, a week dedicated to teaching with AI. Choose from 17 workshops, panels, and playgrounds about teaching with AI.  Register here.

In this workshop, you will have the opportunity to use the ggplot2 package in RStudio to create visualizations (graphs and plots). The ggplot2 package is an excellent tool for creating customizable graphics. Prior knowledge of R / RStudio is recommended but not required. You must have R and RStudio downloaded to your computer before attending this workshop. Learn more and register here.

The Phytotron team will be outside the doors of the Waasamowin (Atrium). They've been growing seedlings for your gardens with a lot of interesting varieties! Come out to see the latest of the CARE-AI Seminar Series with Dr. Anastasia Kuzminykh.  In this talk, she will cover some of the recent work on the Human-AI communication design that was done with the COoKIE research group, discuss its implications for the development of Safe and Responsible AI, and highlight the intriguing potential of conversational interfaces for Human-AI Collaboration. 3MT® is a university-wide competition for graduate students to present their research and its wider impact in 3 minutes or less to a panel of non-specialist judges. The challenge is to present complex research in an engaging, accessible and compelling way, using only one slide. Each college holds a heat to decide which two finalists will advance to the University of Guelph 3MT® Final Competition on April 24th. CEPS College Heat prizes are up to $500 and University Final Competition prizes are up to $1,000.

World Water Day is next Friday, March 22!  This year's theme is "Water for Peace", more details can be found on the United Nations Website.

To help students prepare a 3-minute research “pitch,” we are hosting the second interactive workshops facilitated by Dr. Jodie Salter (University of Guelph Library, Writing Specialist), Jason Dodd (University of Guelph Library, Science Learning Specialist) and Jessie Kennedy (Manager, John F. Wood Centre for Business and Student Enterprise). This workshop will be held in-person (MINS 129) and online via TEAMS. More informaiton will be sent after you register.
