Challenges & Opportunities Towards a Zero Waste Plastics Economy  Manju Misra, Professor and Canada Research Chair in Sustainable Biocomposites  School of Engineering & Department of Plant Agriculture, University of Guelph  The widespread use and reliance on plastic has created waste that is a paramount environmental issue for the world. Biodegradable and compostable plastic is a promising alternative to the single-use plastic. This presentation will highlight the commitments and progress of Canada and India to a vision of zero plastic waste.

Addressing Race in the Classroom: Improving the Student Experience (Part 1)

Join Tameera Mohamed, Cultural Diversity Advisor, for a workshop exploring the experiences of racialized students in the classroom and how instructors can contribute to improving the experiences of students of colour. In this one-and-a-half-hour session, we will address some of the most common experiences of racism and exclusion in the classroom.
