The topic is Social Media for Science Communication. In this workshop, they will talk about how you can brand yourself and how each different social media platform can be used for science communication. They will also give you tips to improve your digital footprint and discuss how to best deal with trolls.

The speaker this year is Dr. Julio Martinez-Trujillo, a world-renowned expert in cognitive neurophysiology. The title of his presentation is “Brain Filters: How Attention Filters Out Distraction”.

During the third week of October, the Indigenous Student Centre hosts its annual Indigenous Recognition Week. It is an engaging opportunity for the U of G community to learn more about First Nations, Inuit, and Métis cultures. Events take place throughout the week and are open to everyone.

Students are invited to "create their own conference experience" by attending one, some or all presentations, workshops and panels being offered on Oct 17th and 19th.
