Final Oral Examination - Doctor of Philosophy – Mark Minow

Mark Minow, Ph.D. candidate in the department of Molecular and Cellular Biology, will defend his thesis on Thursday, Novemer 12, 2020 at 1:30 p.m.  His advisor is Dr. Joe Colasanti.   The external examiner is Dr. Yuhai Cui (AAFC). Thesis Title:  "Molecular genetic investigation into the processes underlying transitions in plant gene expression" All interested members of the university community are welcome to attend the online defence.

Each fall OGPS hosts an event to connect prospective graduate students with faculty, staff and/or current grad students in each of our graduate programs.  Traditionally it is held in a large event space like the UC or the Athletics gym.  During the pandemic we have adjusted the event to still allow for those individual connections but this time it will be virtual!

Cecily Costain, M.Sc. candidate in the department of Molecular and Cellular Biology, will defend her thesis on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. Her advisor is Dr. Mike Emes.  Thesis Title: "Effects of altered starch metabolism on growth and development of Arabidopsis thaliana".

Orientation Session for new GTAs in MCB
