The University of Guelph has announced that Dr. Rene Van Acker, professor and dean of Ontario Agricultural College (OAC), will serve as its interim vice-president (research).

He will step into the position immediately, taking a secondment from his current role as dean.

Van Acker will replace Malcolm Campbell, who has been in the vice-president (research) role since 2015. Following an administrative leave, Campbell will focus on his role as a professor in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology within the College of Biological Science.
