Guelph Wastewater Facility (GWF)

Ontario Water Consortium - Le Consortium Pour L'Eau De L'Ontario

A bench and pilot-scale facility constructed adjacent to the City of Guelph’s municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant, the GWF is owned and operated by the University of Guelph and supported by Ontario Water Consortium.

The GWF has five pilot-scale stations, an ecotoxicology lab, and two basic analytical labs. Users have access to various process streams, including raw wastewater, primary effluent, secondary effluent, tertiary effluent, raw sludge, waste-activated sludge and thickened waste-activated sludge.

The facility also includes two complementary state-of-the-art analytical labs located at the University of Guelph. Analytical equipment include GC/MS, TOC, respirometer, real-time PCR, refrigerated centrifuge, incubator shaker, autoclave, and a digital imaging fluorescence microscope.
