This Discovery and Dialogue Workshop is related to the upcoming University of Guelph call for proposals under the Agri-Food and Rural Policy research theme. The purpose of this event is to continue to build the relationship between the UofG Research Community and Policy Division staff at OMAFRA. We want to work together to ensure strong proposals are developed in response to the annual UofG call for proposals.  

Open to researchers and their research teams: join us for one of two program information sessions to learn more about the 2017-18 OMAFRA research priorities and Call for LOIs. Connect with Research Program Directors, OMAFRA Research Analysts, and Program Support Staff for guidance on preparing a strong proposal.   A second Town Hall was held on September 28, 2017 from 2-3 pm in UC 429. The same information was presented at both sessions.

This Discovery and Dialogue Workshop is related to the upcoming University of Guelph call for proposals under the Agri-Food and Rural Policy research theme. The purpose of this event is to build relationships between researchers and individuals representing Ontario 'food for health' initiatives and foster mutually-beneficial collaborations for the annual UofG call for proposals.

This Discovery and Dialogue Day is aligned with the OMAFRA-U of G Agreement Products and Value Chains research theme. A requirement in the Products and Value Chains theme is to complete a Value Assessment Plan or ‘VAP’. It is an unfamiliar process for many researchers and requires working collaboratively. OMAFRA's Research and Innovation Branch (@ONAgFoodRuralRI) facilitated a live Twitter Q/A session with Dr. Jess Haines, from the department of Family Relations and Applied Nutrition at Guelph University. The Q/A session provided an opportunity to engage with Jess on her research project, which explores methods to effectively educate families on healthy eating and how it can reduce risk of obesity among preschool children.
