Research Summary: White mould is a major problem for Ontario soybean farmers. A new battery-powered robot is being developed to help farmers protect their soybean crops. The robot will use smart technology to scan plants and soil for signs of mould. It will take pictures, track moisture levels, and create a detailed map to show where the mould is spreading. The robot can also pull weeds and spray treatments to reduce chemical use and save producers time. This advanced system will help farmers grow healthier crops while protecting the environment. Using technology like this supports Ontario's agri-food sector and keeps food production strong.
