Research case studies as learning enrichment tools for better soil management

Lead Applicant: Laura Van Eerd

Research Priority: Soil Health Projects

Program Type: Knowledge Translation and Transfer- Mobilization

Funding Cycle: 2021/2022

Research Centre: NA

Research Summary: Recently, technological innovations have produced a variety of soil health and biological tests that are intended to enable growers to monitor the status of their soils over time. Since these tests are new, there is a shortage of information on soil health and biological indicators, how indicators are connected to the sustainable profitability of the farm enterprise, and what can be done to successfully correct unhealthy soils. This project will develop a suite of research-based case studies as tools to address soil health, soil biology, soil organic matter, and greenhouse gases that will be ready-made for use in various industry contexts.
