Research Summary: Farming practices such as hydroponics and indoor farms provide an alternative method for growing food efficiently and sustainably compared to traditional farming, but they require high energy demands to operate. This project tests a high-efficient airlift pump that aims to reduce the high energy consumption, associated energy costs, high capital investment and maintenance costs typically associated with these farming practices, therefore improving profitability for farmers.
